If I was going to invest some money into an expensive deluxe stock blank (and I have) the M1 rifle stock would be at the bottom of my list. There are some really nice single shot actions and Mauser actions (with the extractor) that I would stock with custom wood and checkering. I did make a two piece stock for a custom Remington single shot a few years ago, used a Calif walnut blank whick was easy to work.Comment
