New order placed

I put the order and payment in the mail this morning for a service grade M1 from the CMP. I added a post it note requesting an HRA if possible. Not my first Garand but the first I have ordered form CMP.
Hopefully, I will receive one with good use and character. I am not a collector and shoot mine regularly.
The wait has begun.

I hope it is a good, representative piece and that it shoots well.
I may burn an enbloc or two when I get home for good luck. It's good to have steel in the pasture.

I received an email ,yesterday, that the order was received on the 7th. I can either nervously pace and wonder when the new rifle will arrive or go out and shoot the ones I already have. I think I'll just shoot.

I've been watching the M1s on the CMP auction. I bid on an IHC that , from the pictures, I decided wasn't worth more than about $700 to me. It went well past that yesterday. Glad I am a shooter not a collector. This could otherwise get expensive.

Pending order just hit my account in the Estore. Tension is building...will it arrive before Christmas...New Years?

I have a tracking number with a Monday, 21 December delivery. It is a 5.7 million serial number so I am assuming it is a Springfield.
I looked up serial numbers and it looks like it is possible to be and HRA.

Arrived this morning. It's a 5.7 million HRA. Components I have seen are: HRA bolt, HRA barrel (12-55 original?), SA trigger housing, SA Oprod, rear sight DRC IHC, CMP wood.ME-2, TE 3+.
Very happy. Will shoot in the pasture this evening-if the rain slows.

Gave it a quick lube and out to the pasture for a test run.
4 clicks up had me on the mini popper at 50, 5 clicks had me hitting the mini popper a foot low at 100. I'll zero over the holidays.
