Official Been There Done That Garand Thread

I love Garands that have a well-used, been-there-done-that look to them. This thread is the place to post photos, descriptions, and stories about your Garands that fall into this topic of conversation.

    1. Becoming one of my favorites. Mix master but beautiful to me. Jan 1941 so just knowing this girl had to have had an amazing life keeps me dreaming... Just so dang cool. Earliest I have obtained so far. Love the worn rack number too.

      2. This worn/cosmoline stained WRA is my current side project. Came w lots of WRA goodies. Been adding parts and still have a few to go. Pending stock, follower Rod..

Overall she shows her age a bit but she shoots well and looks purdy to me. If you see any wrong parts let me know. Still learning a lot each day.

I have 1783xx so I had to look at your serial number twice. I like the bullet tip marks on the stock and the worn patina on the metal parts of these old ladies.

Ok I'll throw up another to keep it going.

Field grade IHC. Most all parts IHC.

Love the wood age and stained areas from years of hard usage.

Nice even wear on the parts. All that is left of the side cartouche is the stained ghost image.

Nice shooter. This is just another rifle that speaks to me.

Let's see what else you all have..

This is my fancy also. I love the salty worn look. I used to pass up the field grade rack at CMP. I am in process now of gathering parts to build a salty looking shooter with a new 308 barrel. I have a nice stock with repaired cracks on both sides. I need a good pitted receiver now!
