There is an m1 Garand for sale at my local shop built in 1944 has the matching receiver and barrel, the SA/GAw stamp is faint but still visible. Has a nice fine bright bore stamped 9-44. Its going for $1350 out the door. My question is that its a Rock Island Armory rebuilt and has the stamp on the butt stock "RIA-EB". Is this a good price for a RIA rebuilt Garand with matching parts? Please advise, thank you.

There are no import marks, Ive gone ahead and attached some pictures. Your input is greatly appreciated/needed. I looked up the receiver serial number, barrel and cartouche markings and they match the year 1944. Are RIA refurbished ones less looked after or not as pleasing to collectors?5 Photos

Heres a close up of the bolt numbers, the operating rod, locking bar, rear sight and all parts are original 1944 unmodified Springfield parts from what the dealer says. Do you think 1350 OTD is a good price. What do people think about RIA refurbished rifles? Are they less sought after?3 Photos

Heres my thoughts, if rifle is all correct how did it go through arebuild and nothing was upgraded? As I said before it may be a rifle that was corrected.
You need to remove the action form the stoc and check what is stamped on the op rod and trigger housing, safety , hammer etc.
No RIA are not less sought after but I am not convinced that is what you have.
If it is a RIA rebuild $1350 is to much $$

I want a World War II collectible rifle. I don't want a shooter, but the bore is superb has all the groves with no pitting. I found out the bolt, stock, receiver and barrel are all matching the month and year Sept 1944. I dont know about the op rod yet. I was about to grab it but when I saw the RIA EB stamp it raised some concern. But then I found out everything is matching. I want to call the guy today give an offer but I really cant compare it to anything.
