SA SHM stocks

This time period is not really my area of interest, but over the years, collectors have stated to me that besides the rebuilds, SA SHM was used on new stocks. Some years ago I found a like new SA SHM stock with a nice walnut figure and without any indication of being a rebuild. Anyone have additional information concerning the SA SHM stocks ?

Thanks for posting the data from the CMP forum concerning the SA SHM cartouche, never gave much attention to the late WW2/post war era rifle variations

my photo shows an M1 carbine stock not common but still can be found
