    RRAD Garand

My question is, are these often faked?
My impression was that these have RRAD etched on the stock, which this one does NOT have.
When I bought it I was not looking for a RRAD but a low TE/ME Garand in good shape, which it is and it is a naturally great shooter too!
Rifle dates May 1942 per the serial number.
Rifle has been beautifully reparked, except for the bolt and gas cylinder. Barrel is marked 12 65.
Looks like a possible birch front handguard.
Has RRAD machine etched on the right hand side of the receiver. The stock has the proof load P in a square.
Everything seems to check out except the RRAD stock mark.
    What say you guys?

As I remember RRAD stocks were stamped until around 1964, after that the receiver legs were etched, I may be off on my timeline some. I see nothing wrong with it, nice looking rifle

Thanks, makes sense as the barrel is 1965.

My electropenciled RRAD came straight from US gov't stores when I got it from the DCM in '82. It's electro'ed RRAD 7-66. No RRAD stock stamp, however, it was a replacement birch stock with P stamp and eagle and stars acceptance stamp.
