Opinion on GHS cartouche

I would most appreciate membership input regarding this Type 1 GPS cartouche. This is the only mark of any kind on the stock . The geometry of the stock appears to be correct for this type of cartouche . Thank you in advance for your comments

I’m no expert but I see no periods after each letter GHS, plus the G looks wrong.

I use to track barrel channel markings (mostly single ot two digit) do you have any markings in the barrel channel ? clip latch cut - taper or square bottom ?

Only the first late 1940 SA GHS stocks were without the crossed cannon stamp - very very rare to find
