    My CMP Service grade M1

Just got my Service grade CMP Springfield M1 SN# 411'XXX (made Nov. 1941). New CMP stock nice finish but worn with a barrel reading of 2 and 2 bright and shiny. The barrel is 1941 dated.

2-2 could still be a new barrel. Take it out and shoot it, give it around 8 shots or so to settle into the stock, then see how it groups. Be sure to disassemble first and put a thin film of grease on every metal part to prevent rust. Then be sure to grease all the wear points as well.
