    Which is the right stock?

Hello everyone, I’m having trouble figuring out which is the right stock for my Garand serial number 630722. I’m getting conflicting answers and just wanna be sure.

Is your Rifle WRA or SA?

As initially manufactured, it probably was walnut. In later overhauls, birch and beech was frequently used for replacements.
The thief may possess something he stole, but he does not own it.
The owner has a right to take his property back from the thief.

I think the OP needs an E McF stock for that s/n.

These early to mid 1942 stocks are not easy to find. The early EMcF should have the tapered clip latch cut and without the small crossed cannon stamp on the flat of the pistol grip. Either large or small crossed cannon stamp, look out for fake stamps too

One of my M1's is a Sept '42 (820K s/n) SA. It has the E McF stock with the tapered cut for the clip latch, small wheel and plain pistol grip bottom. Just an fyi.
