    Sling color question please

    Hey Guys,

I have these two canvass slings, both marked SM Co 1944, though it's harder to see on the darker sling unless it's in the right lighting. I was wondering if you have any
ideas as to why the one is so brown in color?

    Thanks!
    James

I've seen the light and dark green slings but not a brown one. I may be wrong but methinks some one dyed the brown one.

            Hey Guys,

I decided to rinse it with some blue Dawn and it definitely changed a bit.

I have had good luck cleaning greasy dirty slings by using brake cleaner. I use "green" brake cleaner. I stuff the sling in a large pickle jar and spray it with brake cleaner. I replace the lid and shake it up and if necessary repeat. I then hang it on clothes line to dry. Unlike washing with detergent the color does not change or markings disappear.
