    Bedding isn't rocket science. If you're interested in trying your hand at it, drop me a pm with your phone number and I'll try to walk you through it. I bedded my DCM M1 over 30 years ago and it's still going strong. Your stock looks totally saveable (notice I didn't say "salvageable") to me. It is apparent that whomever bedded that stock was clueless in what they were doing.

      You can fill the gap in your buttstock with bedding compound, as folks have said. That might be the best answer. The stock set looks like a nice, matching one, so better to make it work.

        If you're a person who likes to read and tinker you can make a quick study of bedding and also how the M1 stock is supposed to absorb recoil. It will solve this issue as well (it should) improve accuracy.
