Monday was a great day. Finally received my 03 FFL and received a gas screw I had been waiting for. I handload so I wanted to keep the action from cycling and catch each piece of brass. I removed the valve from the screw and headed to the range on Tuesday. No problem with the new loads, easily ejected each piece of brass. I love it when things come together. The garand always draws a crowd young and old, especially after that first round.

Using an M1 as a single-shot is rather purpose-defeating. The "thrill" of it is using it as intended and hearing the "ping" when it spits the clip out. I'm just sayin'.........
BTW--I also reload. Have been doing it for 40-plus years. I don't worry about the brass. If your rifle is tuned and running properly, all your brass will be in a neat little pile about 5 feet in front of, and 6 feet right of the rifle when you're done shooting. You're really missing the "fun" part of shooting your M1.
