    Barrel identification help needed

I have a M1 that I need help identifying the barrel year of manufacture. SA 6535448 4 63 Y20 P(large letter) M (large letter). It also has what looks like colonels emblem with 3 stars above it to the far right. I would appreciate any help anyone could give on it or a link to a site that I could look into it if available. Thanks

The barrels SA made in the 1960s are high quality barrels and good shooters.

You have a "National Match" barrel, hence the different drawing/part number. The match barrels were numbered differently from the standard, "run of the mill" barrels. See if there's a star, or asterisk-looking stamp on the barrel crown.

Did not find one , I thought the crown was / is the front of barrel , no room for a stamp.

it does have a number 79 on top of barrel under the rear handguard , what ever that signifies .

The stamp on the end of the barrel is very small-only about 1/32" in diameter. It's either there or it's not. It denotes that the bore was air-gauged for internal uniformity.
I have no idea what the 79 is on the top of the barrel.

I looked again , I was looking at the end of barrel on the outside of it
with my untrained eye/knowledge and a small magnifying glass there is a small stamp / something but can't make out if its a star it is on the bevel going in. 1/32 is mighty small. never would have known

picked this up from a gun show walker in San Antonio . no paper work from CMP or from him , has
                  NM front sight ,
NM rear sight and NM sight base
                  NM windage knob
                  NM op-rod
                  gages at 1-TE & 1.5 ME
you can tell stock is usgi but no stampings of any kind inside or out, all walnut
what might it be worth without CMP papers ( I paid 8 bills for it ) so I know its worth that . anyone have an idea / number ( not for sale )

We need LOTS of pictures and a more detailed description of the rifle. It's possible it was a home-brewed, counterfeit NM job that some one was trying to pass off as some thing it's not, or it could be totally legit. The stamp will be on the flat face of the muzzle, not on the inside bevel. For 8 small, you did well, regardless.
