    Best sling

In your opinion, what is the best leather sling for an M1 Garand?

Depends on what you want it for. Just casual shooting at the range a canvas sling will work fine. If you want top of the line http://www.lestamslings.com/products.htm

Might be the wrong answer you are looking for, but here goes anyway.
I am partial to pretty much any of the the proper width M1907 type on a Garand.
If mounted and adjusted properly, you loop up Marine style and it's a rock solid lock-in in all shooting modes, especially offhand. (Like jak posted above, Turner makes a pretty slick one.)
Some people dig the web type that came out after WWII and during Korea. Not a big fan of unclipping the rear end, but they DO work...
I just prefer the butt end of the sling being attached. Keeps the butt from wandering on your shoulder.
There's an older, more complicated sling, the M1923 (I think...mind slipping...) that looks pretty cool, but haven't tried one.
Not sure if anyone makes a repro of that sling and real ones are a little pricey. (They were an option for the '03 bolt actions and some armourers mounted them on early Garands. The manual even mentions them and explains how to properly mount all 3 types.)
