New to forum & recent CMP experience

Just got my first CMP Garand a couple of days ago, ( though I probably have owned 6 or 7 M-1's over the years ). Service grade, 1953 production with gradings of 2 & 2. Plus, they put it all in new CMP wood. I feel most blessed. Can't wait to shoot it, and will be happy to share my impressions.

Very cool. Thanks for taking the time to stop by. Looking forward to seeing your new rifle.

Well, I took it out this morning, for it's first "trial". Ran 3 clips of HXP through it for function testing, and a rough sight adjustment at 60 yds. (the further ranges were quite busy ). Ran great, no feed issues or stoppages ( Lord only knows, that is not always the case with a Garand ). Accuracy was really nice too - maybe an 1" for the final group. Can't wait to try it at longer ranges. Undoubtedly, it is the best thing I ever got from the Gov't.
