Looks like an M1C to me and probably original. I'll bet one of that quality and documentation would easily sell at CMP auction for that amount of money or probably more.
restoration with verified receiver. The document at the end of the pics also has a note that base was restamped ? Whether that means done Postwar at the armory or by an individual is unknown by me . Regardless, a nice looking rifle but not original WWII .
