Does not matter - this move of theirs will cast doubt into the future of the Marketplace, and encourage folks to branch out to alternatives - like this one !
I intend to shamelessly promote your new venture.
Congratulations upon deciding to do this, and I will do my best to support your site, sir.Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. Give a man a fishing pole, and he will drink too much, hook himself in the nose casting, fall overboard, and either drown, or go home hungry and wet. Give a man a case of dynamite, and he will feed the whole town for a year !

I certainly appreciate the support, and thank you for taking the time to stop by and join up.
This forum is only a month and a half old. I have built a strong team of dedicated leaders in my staff, and I encourage all members to offer advice and suggestions so we can make this a better place.
Thanks for making this venture a pleasant one thus far!Welcome to the Addiction!

We are going to need a new marketplace soon anyhow ,this gives a little more time to transition.

CMP also made it clear that it was for only an 8 week evaluation - after which, I think they plan on closing down the Marketplace for good. That was probably the M.O. to begin with, and probably still is.
Doesn't matter, as this site will be available for those who frequented the CMP Marketplace. Great websites always have members for sale forums - it drives traffic to any site, creates community, and allows members to avoid the fee based selling sites like E-bay and Gunbroker, which take too much cash out of a guys hip pocket nowadays.
I think a site like this, run by an unabashed enthusuast of firearms, is a great replacement for what was a great site for members up until recently.Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. Give a man a fishing pole, and he will drink too much, hook himself in the nose casting, fall overboard, and either drown, or go home hungry and wet. Give a man a case of dynamite, and he will feed the whole town for a year !

From what I did read, they seem to feel like they have to be involved in the problems because the CMP name is associated with the Marketplace. If that is the case, I do not expect the crying about the deals to stop, unless it is temporary. In that case, I expect that they will ultimately close it in an attempt to deal with what they consider to be a problem, even if the problem is of their own doing (from feeling that they have to monitor these problem deals). We should keep developing this new forum for the day that this may arise.
