    questions on my 5.5M h&r

howdy, first post, longtime reader, hoping i can get opinion from the best guys on the net, just got a 5.5M hr that is beautiful, all parts h&r save bolt, which is d28287-19sa a-9 which dates to 1945 and looks new as rest of rifle,i have read that h&r used some sa bolts during mfg. does that # sound like it would be orig assembly? should i consider it correct? or should i look for proper bolt. te/me both 2, having trouble postng pics but will when my computer stupid brain figgers it out, thanks for any info

Your rifle is too late to have SA parts in it.

john thanks for reply, i wasnt clear, i am aware that the 45 sa is not the right date, its just that i have read in canfields book (i believe) that when h&r tooled up they received late run sa bolts that were left over after sa stopped building, and if that is the case with my m1, should i leave it the way it is, or try and get a appropriate h&r bolt, thanx for your time.....steve

SA parts will be in the 4.6 or 4.7 range, what ever their 1st s/n block was. I don't remember precisely and don't have the book in front of me right now. Again, your 5.5 is too late for SA parts. I know this is not what you want to hear, sorry.
