    interesting receiver identification marking

I found this Springfield 16K from an ad in Shotgun News around 1985, I wanted the low serial number. Later I found these markings which
appeared to be Hebrew. The guys on another forum identified these Hebrew marking as Beit Shin Khaf or Shin Bet which is one of Israel's
Internal Security Services. At some point in time this rifle belonged to them

Thanks for sharing that- Something I have not seen. How many early parts remain on it?

Nice rifle. How about more photos and details. In the late 1980s Sarco had a few original new in wrap 1952 dated M1D barrels along with some new in wrap 1952 standard M1 Garand barrels. Both types came from Israel. I believe at the same time SAMCO had imported from Israel a small amount of original M1D rifles.

Nothing special about 16212, nice receiver but has had the seventh round correction, not annealed but the Hebrew markings kind of cancelled out a restoration years ago. It may have more of a collector interest now with the Hebrew markings. Mix-master parts, it was never a M1D nor import marked nor SARCO marked. It has a modified D 28290 trigger housing and early rev 1 bolt.
I have never taken any photos except those that I posted above. Will take additional photos
