Very nice. Is there any remnants of red paint on the handguards , lower band , and/or front stock ferrule ?

No, there's not a hint of red paint anywhere. Any thoughts on the stock as compared to the handguards?

Stock looks to be possibly replaced . Doesn't match wear patten . Not uncommon to see stocl replaced or cartouche sanded off. Nice stock and beautiful rifle .

Were the hand guards cut from the same blank as the stock at manufacturing? Such that you would expect to see the natural flow of the grain of the original blank?

Looks good, Maybe the stock has been replaced, very common.
