Very Nice. Thank You for sharing. Never understood why the British never issued them to combat units. We could have used them in the Philippines.

On auction site from staten Island. He has another, but not as correct as this one, but stock cartouches are there. For 2650.

The operating rod catch should be without finish for this time period.

The revision 3 trigger guard is early for this serial number range as most revision 3 trigger guards are indicated in the later 380xxx serial number range.

Was there a number in the stock channel and a marking on the rear sight cover ?

I know that years ago a small number of Lend Lease rifles became donor rifles to supply stocks and early internals for restorations. The SA GHS stocks were the most wanted and used to restore the late 1941 non Lend Lease rifle which was considered more desirable and worth more. The barrels with the British proofs on the front of the barrel often had these markings peened over and then removed to salvage a late 1941 barrel (import marks were also removed too but the barrels were higher quality on the British marked) I even saw a Winchester barrel with the British proof marks between the gas cylinder rings, they were around.

The serious Lend Lease collector wants rifles with the BNP proofs stamped near the date

I got a pretty good deal on this one. All parts are early and if broken up worth much more than I paid. Barrel gauges under 1 both ends.
