This rifle has come up for sale several times . The complete stock and hanguard set is reproduction . I believe the seller has finally conceited to that . The whole rifle is reparked . The biggest thing is , no one , including many very reputable sources , can verify the barrels authenticity . They won't verify it's fake and they won't verify it's real . That would be hard to resale later on if you sunk that kind of money into it . Also the seller , who owns a gunshop in California, has a NO RETURN and NO REFUND policy on this item . NO INSPECTION PERIOD . That is hard to swallow 19500.00 at a gamble .
Paul is correct on this rifle, it has been around for awhile. With the value of an original gas trap barrel being around $8000 to $12000 you don't want to buy a fake. Also note the barrel drawing number and heat lot code, kind of suspicious to see the heat hot code "before" the drawing number
The barrel looks to be fake to me. I don't use the term "fake" loosely. A "repro" barrel would not have bogus drawing and heat lot numbers. I have no problem with repro. But this barrel is FAKE.
Parted out, you could get maybe 8 or 9K for the lot. The stock is worthless. Any value would be in the spring set, front end, flush nuts, and op rod. I would be very careful in believing that the follower rod, and maybe some other pieces were originally numbered. Run away!
This guy is a Turd Knocker. He has resanded the cartouche from previous attempts as screwing people and now makes it sound as if it is real. The gun isn't worth close to what he is asking. I really get ticked over people like him. Rick B
