I guess that would be "more correct" for an EO, but I really don't know. I was told that EO rifles used knobs that had very thin hair-line arrows. That said, yours is thinner than mine, so I would have to assume that yours would be more correct.
As for using it on a restoration, I can only guess that aside from the fact that it's off center you may not want to use it because it doesn't appear (from the photo) to have the original DuLite color. That's just a guess though!
Either way, thanks for sharing!!!Welcome to the Addiction!

I'll guess, hard to tell from the wash out color in the pic but it looks like the knob may have been used with a lock bar at one time. Also, do you think the guy on the milling machine was having a bad day? I think he was stopping to talk to one of his cubicle mates, probably arguing over baseball or something ... or maybe how much water was running over the spill way at the plant....

Ding ding ding - you got it. Lockbar rub.
Some are much more pronounced than others but you can just make out where the pads of a lockbar have rubbed the finish from the face of the knob. If the finish is uniform all the way to the edges or not worn in a ring like this, then you can say that it was most likely on a flushnut rifle for its entire life. There are several such indicators to look for when doing an originality analysis.
I haven't had to give one these away for a long time - CCyooper, you win a shiny new dime (well it was new when I first used to do these, so that makes me old I guess ...).
When I set up at one of the GCA conventions years ago, I had a tray of dimes for all the guys to come and collect. Wouldn't ya know it, nobody came to get one. Of course they were all super glued down to the tray but, ...
