    83212 Nov. 1940

I was very lucky to buy this receiver from a member on the CMP Forum a year or so ago.
It's 83212, November 1940, and appears to have it's original (or very old at least) flush nut rear sight, clip latch, and perhaps even the original bolt! The bolt is complete with a blued extractor and round firing pin. There is almost no finish remaining on the receiver or its associated parts. Now to find a matching 11/40 barrel!!!

It is very difficult to find a S-A 11-40 barrel, you can find the 12-40's and even some 10-40's. This S-A 11-40 barrel came from SARCO
back in 1986. Looks nice on my receiver photo of receiver will not download !

          RCS,
That's an ultra rare bird right there!!
If you email me your pic I will insert it. It's probably too big for the allotted bandwidth that I have available to me for the site currently.

I have 63282 with a S-A 9-40 barrel next to 48670 with a S-A 12-40 bbl. The springs are repro. The SA SPG stocks
with two equal size holes in the butt are very difficult to find as they were only used a short period of some months

Brian, I hope you finish that 11-40 rifle. It is nice, has lots of potential. It just didn't fit in my collection. You should have seen the sporterized stock that came on it, enough to make you vomit.

I can't believe that I forgot about this thread, sorry guys!!
Thanks for the info and nice words.
I really could use a nice, but worn, 11-40 barrel if anyone wants to part with one!!!

There are more 12-40 barrels around than 11-40. Look around for a 12-40
                Working...
