      Has the original drawing for this part been published? I wonder what the approved date was? Wouldn’t 42k be May/June of 40? That 39k rifle the GCA got to examine showed a 7-40 date hand written on the bottom of the follower along with the word “new”. I can’t imagine they would have received one for testing after they were already put into full production. What would have been the point of that?

        From the serial numbers posted on the internet, you could assume that any serial number from 42K to 46K would have been manufactured in June 1940.

        You might also assume that the revision 4 follower & slide were being tested before being used in new production rifles

        Billy Pyle states in the "Garand Stand Report" Summer 2001 number 43 page 7 " revision four (4) came out in June of 1940"
