Winchester WRA WB double box cartouche

Photos show the rare Winchester WRA WB double box cartouche used on Winchester no trap stocks for a short period of time during mid 1941. Without a doubt, there are more fakes than originals around in collections Click image for larger version

That is probably the rarest stock cartouche there is. Very nice Robert. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Paul, the double box WRA stock is quite rare. Many years ago, i bought an incomplete early Winchester rifle with the original barrel from California. The serial number is 111709 and I have since found two other WRA rifles just a few numbers away from this one. My s/n 111709 has a WRA RS (faint cartouche) no trap stock which is interesting too. Many collectors have posted their opinions concerning the serial number range used with the WRA double box WB cartouche but to date, nothing can be documented. If I had the WRA WB double box stock on 111709, it would not bother me. My sn 111709 is on the left side in the first photos Click image for larger version
