early rear hand guard band

I found a rear hand guard band or sometimes called clip with the B 8870-l drawing number, which I have never seen before ? All rear hand guard bands that I have seen have the serif 1 or B-8870-1 or B 8870-1. I told my friend in NJ it was Winchester, he did not buy it !

Interesting. Have you ever seen knockoffs for an early rear hand guard band before?

Have not seen any fakes, in the past some have tried to weld-up the holes to like early SA & WRA bands. Few will attempt to remove the band to check for any number
