Sometimes a bad situation can have a happy ending!
Garand are not that easy to find here in Canada and when you do find one you usually pay dearly for it. After falling victim to an online purchase I was pretty upset. It was a good chunk of money to lose. I had to make a decision...take the loss and give up on finding my bucket list rifle or press on.
I decided to press on and karma must have been on my side because I found and bought a 1940 Springfield Armoury M1 Garand. I couldn't be happier!
This particular M1 was sent to the Augusta Arsenal at some point and had a new barrel put on her in 1950.
The trigger housing dates to 1942 and the receiver dates Sept 1940-May 1941.
She in amazing shape for something so old!
I'm really looking forward to getting her out and putting some rounds down range...it's going to be incredible!
