    Front sight ID

Trying to identify the "type" front sight this is, have looked at many pictures and can't seem to find it. Any help would be appreciated. The rifle comes from a vet estate and is April 1939 with a Mar 41 barrel, all other parts are pre war also... Need help with the stock also, the stock , handguard and other wood have drawing numbers, the cartouche appears to be GHS, and has stowage compartment... will post pics later
    Thanks
    Sean

That's a fascinating rifle. Maybe a direct conversion? Love that rear sight, wow! Please show us more pix of the stock and handguards. Is that a numbered GHS stock, as in maybe an SPG that was modified? Can you take a phot of the butt of the stock where the plate would attach to, please?
Oh, your front sight is a Springfield Armory sight for the spline type gas cylinder. The sight seal in place is nice to see.
Beautiful rifle, and thanks for sharing the pix with us here.
