Hi guys and gals I just scored this on eBay. What are your thoughts? I was one to for 460 earlier this year so am feeling the 275 May have been too good to be true but am happy!😎
Nice condition glad it is not battleship gray. here is one that I found many years ago along with the numbered stacking swivel. These are old photos from 2008 but easy to post for me but not today
another "old" photo, this follower and slide were a gift from "Mac" years ago as he could not pin point the exact serial number range. Not that this is unmarked and has the bottom bevels on each side. Later someone told me that s/n 4016 also has the exact follower and slide
What serial # range was the numbered lower band used? I'm seeing conflicting sources and rifles that have them that are outside the stated ranges. I'm assuming this part is privy to overlap periods in production with the non numbered grooved bands?
From Billy Pyle's book "The Gas Trap Garand" states that the first few thousand had the C-46000 band and by 7,000 serial range they were replaced by the C-46000-0 which lasted until the 10K serial range
