The receiver was on the CMP auction and I bought it for $1905.00. Most three digit Winchesters will run up to
4K on the CMP Auction and will be parkerized instead of DuLite. I just happen to be collecting 1941 Winchesters
and was able to do a restoration. The WRA RS is an original cartouche which helps. My old friend Charles Redfield
provided the correct safety and correct early trigger guard and sight base. I had a numbered rear handguard from
Rick B. I did remove the keystone spring from my 63K Springfield to install in this rifle.
Also found a handreceipt signed by Robert Sears for a M1 sent to Winchester. Difficult to find any information on
Robert Sears
Wow that's some pretty amazing stuff right there!!
I've been meaning to get a hold of Mr. Redfield, as I think I'm only a half hour from his area. Would be nice to pick his brain about some things.
Mr. Pyle has been very gracious to me for my restorations, as has Bubba.
Always nice just to be able to talk with you guys!
