Gas Trap cylinder, sight, and plug for sale

This first link is to the cylinder, sight, and plug that were for sale on ebay recently:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/m1-garand-g...19.m1438.l2649

(And I'm adding this second link on January 3rd, after a week of discussion posts here).

This second link is another ad from last year, same hometown:

The thing that bothers me is the number. Here it is against one in the Gas Trap Garand.

You also need some photos of the front sight serrations, many fake front sights were made over the years and an original front sight is 2K now

Picture 3 shows a casting seam straight down the middle....... USGI cylinders, sights, and front plugs are not cast and don't have seams..... Bid at your own risk.

For such a high-ticket item the photos are a travesty, and the fact that the seller added photos since the auction started, and they equally suck, is even more of a travesty!
I don't like the front sight. I don't like the drawing number. I don't like the casting line. I don't like the fact that there's no photo of the face of the plug.
I'm damn happy that I'm not the winning bidder on this. Hell, I'm damn happy that I didn't even bid on this at all!!

It looked foul to me as well. I couldn't get over the fact it looked like it had been cooked in a fire pit. I'm always amused with folks that try to sell high ticket items with low ticket pictures. I would like to see the rest of the no trap butt plate pictured at the top of the photo.

I like the part that it was from his grandfathers collection and he doesn't know anything about it other than its for a gas trap.

                      Standard shipping at $3.32? Seriously??
I sincerely hope that the winner requests a little more than standard shipping, with some insurance!
                      Goodness!!
