    Comp Spring Question

This compensating spring is interesting. It has 52.5 coils, and has been blued.
The thickness of the coils is wider than the known repros that I have, and it slides smoothly on a Type 1 follower rod with no binding.
I know the mainspring is a repro, but any thoughts on the comp spring?

Also, the op rod is an unmodified top-marked -0.

The only Keys springs I've seen were broken sections, I didn't even know they made a repo do they?

The books all state 55 coils for the comp spring. My old friend (who since died) Irl Otte claimed to have a round wire replacement
comp spring. I use to tell him to put into his 42684 restoration but he wouldn't do it. Dimensions can change over time on these
springs as well as the keystone springs

I'm going to make a point to count the coils on my known repros and compare them to this one. Sometimes parts just "look different."
This is one of those parts.

To find a round-wire comp spring would be nothing short of a miracle. That would be a sight to behold, for sure!!
