Restoring a 79894 serial and was wondering if a flat top -4 safety would fit appropriately with this? I see a couple resources (Duffs WW2 book and other works, such as data sheets for close serials) are leaning towards a no hole 6 as being more likely to be "correct". There was a decent overlap in use between the two from what I'm seeing. What are you seeing in correct rifles around that time?

There are two types of the flat back or flat face follower arms, you need the later, Orlando had some excellent photos of the two types. I have original data sheets from 59708, 63550, 95024 and 167583 that all show flat back follower arms. When Duff sent me a copy of the SA 79115 data sheet (FDR rifle) he left blank the follower & slide and follower arm thinking someone might have
changed-out some parts over the years. Also when he received the original data sheet from 56745 he altered the follower arm to show a bevel, later Billy Pyle published a correct data sheet on 56745 with the flat face follower arm. Duff just was not familiar with the revision 4 follower& slide and the flat back follower arms, you really can not expect him to know every part at this time as new information started to surface after his book was published
