Forum technical questions thread

Jersey Devil,
Do you know how long it is here until this board times out? Is it adjustable per user?
It is common for me to be on several sites at once and I've never asked before but on Calguns it closes me down if I'm inactive for about 15 minutes. My other forums, one is about 30 minutes and the other is indefinite.

It appears as if there's no timeout. On my end, in the admin CP, there doesn't exist anything for me to adjust or turn on/off regarding this. Only time / date of the site, etc....which is another thing that I need to work on soon. The time is way off and it's making me crazy.

That's good. There must be different versions of the software because on m1arifles,com, I can adjust it. It is similar to this layout.

Okay that's weird. I cannot find a setting for this anywhere in the admin CP. Let me ask support about this and I'll get back to you.

I tested it, and it kicks me out at 15 minutes idle. I didn't do anything for 16 minutes, refreshed the page and I had to sign on again.

I just did a 24 hour test and I brought up the window and was still logged in.

On another topic,
Is this website out in public yet? The reason I ask is I wasn't sure about the exact "www.m1garandforum.com" so I did a generic Google for a M1 Garand forum, and this site didn't come up in the 5 or 6 pages I went through. I'll try typing it in directly next time or saving it to my favorites but for now I'm having to go to my email where you sent me the link and use the link. But, I am pretty computer dumb honestly.

I purposely didn't hook the site into m1garandforum.com, yet, but instead you need to type in m1garandforum.com/forums and that will bring you right to the site. Once I get some more work done and some content, I'll hook it into the original address and get it on Google and the other major search engines. That actually costs money to do it the right way, believe it or not!!

Work has had me very busy lately, so no nothing new really happening. Just laying low for a while. I'm off the next two days, so maybe I'll feel like working on the site....maybe not. No rush on my end, obviously!! LOL
