    What do I have?

I have a Springfield M1 made in 1944, barrel is LMR dated 1955, bolt is marked PB.

    Is this a Greek return?

    Thanks

No way to tell. But with a PB bolt it could be a Dane. Post some photos.

Just wanted to add that the stock is not the original stock.

Doesn't look dark enough for Greek.

I agree. Greeks looked almost black like they were black oxied.

Not all Greek returns had the "Greek black finish" In fact there were more USGI finish Greek return rifles than Greek Black finish. The so called Greek black finish looked nothing like parkerizing, once you saw it ,it was easily identified. Not saying the finish was ,but it had "look" of thick epoxy paint. Original USGI finish can also be very dark/black and is often confused with "Greek Black"
