    Degenerate burglars/dopers

This is something that really makes my blood boil. We have had a gang apparently of drug addict burglars running wild in my little town. This started a few years ago with one local "kid" who is a meth head. He has ended up with a group, they have been doing burglaries of residences as well as garages and out buildings all over at least 2 counties. Many farmsteads are no longer lived on so those are easy pickings. My community is down to about 10, no LE of course, S.O. is 36 miles away. We have probably had at least 20 burglaries which is no small thing considering we have a total of about 8 houses most not lived in. I have good lights, locks, am on a dead end street, and recently put an alarm in. Most of my Garands and a few other high dollar stuff is in a safe but like many I have too much for the safe. I had a somewhat secure gun room and used to have the collection on wall racks so if I wanted to look at one it was simple. Thanks to these nice folks I have had to lock stuff up. I got another security cabinet, a second safe might be too heavy for the floor so went with a cabinet that will slow someone down. The local meth head hit my neighbor's twice in a week but got caught the 2nd time and is in the cross bar hotel. Sun I had two dirtbags coming toward my house at daylight with masks on. My same neighbor saw them first and called me. I met the fine folks out on my deck, a Remington 870 riot gun gets their attention. They thought better of whatever they were going to do and left in a hurry. I called 911 and both ended up getting caught breaking into an empty house across town. One guy was a felon and parole violator who was turned to the Marshalls, he had a large fixed blade knife on him. Thank God for Mr. Remington. They had several large knives between them. The 2nd was released? Later the S.O. found a pickup they were using stuck, they had stolen a camper but the camper came unhooked. They are trying to find out if the pickup was stolen too, it was full of stolen stuff. I guess the point of my rant is there are some really bad actors running loose, getting worse all the time. We need to be watchful and very careful with our collections and with our personal safety. I have a CC license and carry all the time, even here in this little town. Sorry this is so long, just wanted to vent a little. There is a special place for degenerate burglars and dopers.

    Good show, Sir!

That is a LOT of crime for a really small town. In 29 Palms, there's lots of scum, parolees, and tweekers but we have about 25,000 people. One career criminal was just caught last year with over $10,000 in stolen goods in his house. Of course he's not in jail, out beating people up and tried to kill his girlfriend by running her over and he just keeps doing crimes. I think he finally got caught as I haven't seen him for a while.
A couple years ago, there was a couple groups doing home invasions by my house. Stole a lot of cars, money, etc. Even shot a guy's dog in front of him in his home. They turned out to be teenagers. I just waited inside with my 1911 next to me as usual if they ever came. Doors are always locked regardless.

LOTS and LOTS of scum on the loose. I could fill this thread with stories.

Too bad you don't have a couple hundred acres and a backhoe.....you can solve the crime problem by yourself.
Maybe the few of you that are left can form a small crime watch group and take turns watching out for each other.

Only have a little over an acre that I actually own, there is a large area up to the north of my place which is maybe 40 acres that belongs to the BNSF RR, trains and tracks are long gone. That area had a "Y" where the trains were turned, mostly slough (marsh, swamp, etc.) and no one goes there. The coyotes and other critters would take care of one of the 2 legged varmints in short order. Just kidding, never know who could be monitoring this. There are open wells and old cisterns too in the town. Place is one huge hazard. We have enough problems without these animals. I am wanting to try to sell the place and get out of here but the entire state is getting bad. Lots of drugs, and many criminals came up here when the oil opened up several years ago.

Stay vigilant Nodak! It's very sad that in today's world you never know what people are going to do.
