photo shows a 7,62mm M160 frangible and a 30 cal M2 frangible. The 30 M2 was used during WW2 to train aircraft machine gunners in modified Browning AN M2 machine guns, I wil try and post a photo of the modified Browning. The 7,62x51 frangible (this one is headstamped FA 63) saw very limited use in training

The Browning AN M2 machine guns which were lightweight Browning Model 1919 machine guns, required a special muzzle booster to cycle the action with frangible cartridges as the pressure would not cycle the action with 30 M2 Frangible cartridges. To my knowledge, nothing was ever developed to cycle 7,62x51mm frangible cartridges in any US machine gun as the 30 caliber aircraft machine gun was considered obsolete by the end of WW2. I would doubt the 7,62x51mm would cycle the M14 rifle and as these cartridges are quite rare few would attempt to find out. There are fake 7,62mm frangible cartridges around, the key is the headstamp and total weight of the cartridge
