    Some older 30-06 ammo....

Just remembered I had this box of Western Lubaloy 30-06 rounds, box is pretty ok, photo not so much. Will see if I can post them here. It seems that it was not unusual to
buy 30-06 with the stripper clips already attached. I guess you were pretty much buying it for the Springfield rifle so might as well have the clips...

A few more headstamps, these from WWII. Not rare but perhaps interesting.

Very interesting for sure. Are you an ammo collector? There appears to be quite a good amount of highly collectible ammo offered for sale lately, and these examples are in collectible condition.
Thanks for sharing these with us!

Thanks, not really a collector, just been at this long enough to have kept a bunch of older stuff around. I'll post a few more photos as I take them. It all started in the 1950's when I went on a field trip to the old FBI building in school. At the end of the tour they took all of us to the basement shooting range and an agent would fire a few rounds from each of the firearms issued
at the time. The last one was always the Thompson. They would let a few of us run into the range and grab all the brass we could put in our pockets. I always grabbed the .45ACP brass.
Still have some of it somewhere. I never stopped being interested in that old brass. Thinking back on how times have changed, I pretty much doubt that's not a part of the tour anymore.....
