    Corrosive ammo?

Found some original M2 ball in sealed boxes in the stuff my dad had stored in ammo cans. This stuff is in perfect condition but I am thinking it is probably corrosive ammo. I will include a couple pics of the box and headstamp but the box is marked Ammunition Lot U 16506.

The head stamp on the rounds is U 42. So I am thinking if it is 1942 ammo then it is in the corrosive era, correct?

    Yes, it is corrosive.

Collectors of WW2 items will pay at least $1.00 per round and more in sealed 20 rd boxes

Unfortunately like an idiot I opened them. I even thought about it before doing so but figured since I had 30-40 already open boxes they couldn't be worth much. Hindsight is 20-20. Well, I am not going to shoot it so it is available. If it sits to long I will pull the bullets and powder and put oil in them and then deprime them and use the brass for reloading.

I still think you can sell WW2 M2 ball at around a dollar per cartridge, all depends on where you list it for sale.
