Very early production 30 rd magazine

One of the first production 30 rd magazines manufactured by Armalite, note the early curve. This
magazine will fit either the AR-15 or AR-18/180. Original envelope is shown, the magazine itself
    is sterile

    That is outstanding!!
I've heard of PolyKraft, but never knew what that was. Is that the name of the material? Any ideas?? It looks to have been manufactured by Richmond, so I assume PolyKraft is not a manufacturer.

There was a long discussion on milsurps.com sometime ago concerning the early magazines. The envelope is military grade VOC paper, Most of these early Costa Mesa magazines only have the mag catch cut-out for the AR-18 series and even the Sterling magazines. The magazine in the 1969 dated envelope is cut for both M16 and AR-18 mag catches. Photos: 1) waffle AR-15 2) Armalite steel 30rd 3) Sterling steel 30rd 4) Sterling steel 40 rd the last three fit either rifle, I have used the 40 rd Sterling and it works without any problem
